Role: Full Stack Developer
Project: Trading Applications (Azure/Databricks)
Industry: Energy Trading
Location: London - Hybrid, 3 days/week
Contract: 6 months initial - expected multi-year scope
Rate: £600-750/day - inside IR35
X4 Technology are partnered with a leading energy trading firm on a major Azure Databricks transformation, offering an experienced Full Stack Developer the opportunity to join a high-profile Trading Technology team.
This is a hands-on role focused heavily on React.js and Node.js, sitting at the intersection of application, data and cloud engineering. You'll work closely with Databricks Engineers to enhance the front-end application layer (React.js) of trading applications while also developing the backend services and APIs that power them (Node.js).
You'll also gain exposure across the wider technology ecosystem, including Python, Azure Cloud Engineering, CI/CD and the deployment, operation and scaling of critical trading applications.

Responsibilities of the Contract Full Stack Engineer (Trading)
- Build high-quality, responsible and scalable UI components (React.js)
- Develop backend APIs, services, microservices and integrations (Node.js)
- Deploy and automate applications through cloud services and CI/CD (Azure)
- Bridge the data and application layers to build intuitive user experiences
- Contribute to technical design, patterns and engineering standards
- Drive performance, resilience, observability and reliability across the stack
- Support code reviews, technical delivery and Agile development
Requirements for the Contract Full Stack Engineer (Trading)
- Proven Full Stack development experience, with strong React.js and Node.js expertise
- Strong front-end capability across React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS
- Strong backend experience with Node.js, APIs, microservices and integrations
- Exposure to Python, Rest APIs, GraphQL, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes (beneficial)
- Proven experience within trading (energy/commodities specifically preferred)
