About Codurance

Codurance is a software craftsmanship consultancy. We're partnering with our client to find a Contract Senior Software Engineer (Go) to join their team directly.

Day rate: 600 - 650 day (inside IR35)

About the role

Our client is a fast-growing, well-funded technology company operating a financially critical platform used by a global customer base, processing significant transaction volumes every month. Their engineering teams solve genuinely hard problems at scale, and they're looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Go) to join one of their core product teams.

This isn't a "ticket-taker" role. Senior Software Engineers here are expected to take initiative — owning problems from initial concept and scoping through to implementation, rollout, and ongoing support. You'll work as part of a small, high-trust team, collaborating closely with Product, Data/Analytics, Risk, Platform (SRE), and other engineering teams to ship things that matter.

If you want to work on high-throughput, high-reliability systems, with real ownership and real impact, this is a strong next step.

What you'll do

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, highly reliable systems that power core parts of the platform.

  • Architect solutions that scale as transaction volumes and customer numbers grow.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, and help set the engineering standard for the team.
  • Lead design discussions and architecture decisions, balancing short-term delivery against long-term sustainability.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data, Risk, and Operations to turn business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Shape product direction by contributing technical insight, trade-offs, and delivery estimates.
  • Partner with Support and Operations teams to investigate and resolve production issues.
  • Mentor other engineers and lead technical planning for team initiatives, levelling up engineering practice more broadly.
  • Help shape team and engineering culture — this is a role with influence beyond your immediate codebase.
