Contract H&S Manager
Are you ready to lead a safety-first culture across a complex, multi-site logistics operation? Can you drive compliance, quality and environmental excellence while influencing senior stakeholders? Do you have the leadership skills to inspire teams, reduce risk and deliver continuous improvement?
We are looking for a Contract H&S Manager to join our Currys site in Newark. You will lead and embed the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) strategy across a high-profile logistics contract. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you'll be a key member of the Contract Leadership Team, providing strategic direction, governance and expert guidance across multiple operational locations.
Leading a team of QHSE professionals, you'll champion a proactive safety culture, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, drive environmental and quality performance, and support operational leaders to achieve business objectives safely and sustainably. This is a highly visible role where you'll influence stakeholders at all levels while shaping the future of QHSE performance across the network.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £65,000.00 per annum, plus car or car allowance and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Leading and delivering the contract-wide QHSE strategy across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with business and customer objectives
- Driving a positive safety culture through behavioural safety initiatives, engagement programmes and leadership coaching
- Ensuring full compliance with UK health, safety, environmental and quality legislation, as well as customer and company standards
- Managing audits, governance programmes and compliance reviews, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented
- Analysing performance data, identifying trends and delivering actionable insights to reduce risk and improve operational performance
- Leading, coaching and developing a multi-site QHSE team while building capability across operational leadership teams
- Building strong relationships with customers, regulatory bodies and key stakeholders to support continuous improvement and operational excellence
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Significant experience in a senior QHSE leadership role within logistics, supply chain, manufacturing or a similar operational environment
- Proven experience managing QHSE across multiple sites and leading geographically dispersed teams
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, compliance requirements and management systems
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) and Chartered IOSH membership, or actively working towards Chartered status
- Demonstrable success in creating, embedding and sustaining a positive safety culture
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting at senior leadership and customer level
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and drive meaningful performance improvements
