Contract HSE Advisor

What You Will Do

  • Provide day-to-day HSE guidance across two operational sites, acting as the primary advisor to operational, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, employee engagement, and effective communication.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and workplace assessments, ensuring risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work arrangements stay current and effective.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, identifying root causes and ensuring robust corrective actions.
  • Support safe working practices for manufacturing processes involving composites, assembly, testing, lifting operations, machinery, and hazardous substances, with compliance to COSHH, PUWER, and LOLER.
  • Maintain environmental compliance across both sites by supporting waste management, recycling initiatives, and environmental improvement programmes.

What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience as an HSE Advisor, Health and Safety Advisor, SHE Advisor, EHS Advisor, or HSE Business Partner within manufacturing or similarly regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and environmental compliance, including experience producing clear reports following investigations.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (minimum) with a confident, practical approach to influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting production operations, including risk assessment, method statement review, and working with permits and safe systems of work.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to coach managers and supervisors in effective HSE practices.
