Contract Lawyer - Business Immigration

We are seeking a Contract Lawyer with Business Immigration experience to join our busy Employment team on a 3-month contract. This role can be based in either our Manchester or Birmingham office and offers a hybrid working arrangement. The position will be engaged on a competitive day-rate basis via an Umbrella Company.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a lawyer with Business Immigration experience. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates who have experience across a combination of business immigration, personal immigration, and employment law matters, and who are keen to develop their expertise within Business Immigration.

You will join a highly regarded team, supporting clients on a broad range of business immigration matters and working closely with colleagues across our national Employment practice.

Your Role

As a key addition to the team, day to day you can expect to be involved with high quality, varied work including:

  • Advising on a varied caseload of business immigration matters including skilled worker and global mobility visa applications
  • Supporting sponsor licence applications, sponsorship compliance, and right to work audits, with the opportunity to take increasing ownership
  • Supporting clients with immigration queries
  • Providing immigration support on corporate transactions
  • Working closely with the wider national Employment team
  • Developing your skills, knowledge, and business immigration expertise

Your Skills & Experience

You will be/have:

  • A qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered) with 1-4 years PQE in business immigration, gained from a specialist immigration team or wider employment team
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
  • Commercially aware with some exposure to business development, with the ability to maintain and nurture strong client relationships
  • Able to develop a deep understanding of your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client
  • Able to contribute to our collaborative culture, with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members
