The Opportunity
We are looking for a Contract Manager to join our Christchurch Projects and Interiors team, focused on small to mid-sized projects typically ranging from $10k to $1m.
This role sits between Project Management and Quantity Surveying. You will oversee two to three projects at a time, managing both operational delivery and the commercial side. The work is varied and fast paced, ideal for someone who enjoys moving from project to project rather than being tied to a single long-term build.
Key responsibilities include managing your projects from award to completion, coordinating site activities, supervising subcontractors, looking after budgets, tracking costs and variations and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard. You will also be the main point of contact for clients and consultants, so strong communication and people skills are important.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
