Company Description

Property Maintenance Services SW Limited is a property maintenance company based in Heathfield, just off the A38, serving domestic, commercial, and industrial customers across Devon and Cornwall. The company provides a broad range of maintenance services and completes all building projects to a high specification. Teams receive Asbestos Awareness training, and surveyors hold Asbestos Sampling accreditation from BSure, supporting safe and compliant working practices. As a member of the NatWest Bank Mentor scheme, the business has access to professional guidance on current health and safety legislation. The company holds public liability insurance of £5m and employers’ liability insurance of £10m, and offers emergency call-out services to make properties safe during severe weather.

Role Description

The Contract Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bovey Tracey. The Contract Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of property maintenance contracts, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. The role involves:

  • Liaising with clients, surveyors, and suppliers
  • Preparing and reviewing quotations and contracts
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and reports

The Contract Manager will also support compliance with health and safety regulations, participate in risk assessments, and help ensure emergency and routine works are managed efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in contract management, project coordination, or site management within property maintenance, construction, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning, with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices; any training or certification related to H&S, asbestos awareness, or risk assessment is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in using office and project management software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, scheduling tools) and maintaining clear, accurate documentation.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, resolve issues on site, and make informed decisions under time pressure.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications or a technical background in construction, building maintenance, or a related discipline are an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across Devon and Cornwall as required.
