Role Description
The Contract Manager is a full-time, part site based, part office based role, with our offices being located in Prudhoe (Northumberland). The role involves overseeing tiling contracts from award to completion, including planning project programs, allocating resources, and managing site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. The Contract Manager will review drawings and specifications, coordinate material orders and deliveries, manage health and safety compliance, and handle variations, valuations, and final accounts. The role also includes reporting on project performance, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

- Experience in contract management or project management within construction or a related trade, ideally with exposure to specialist subcontracting or tiling works.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate resources, and meet deadlines.
- Solid communication and relationship-building skills for working with clients, main contractors, site teams, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of construction processes, drawings, specifications, and industry standards, including health and safety regulations.
- Competence with project documentation, cost control, and basic commercial management such as variations, valuations, and budgets.
- Proficiency with common office and project software (e.g., MS Office, scheduling tools) and the ability to learn company systems quickly.
- Proven problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving site and contractual issues.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites nationwide as required.
- An appropriate CSCS card and SMSTS qualification (preferred)
- Relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
