🚨 Commercial Contracts Manager | Edinburgh or Bristol | £60,000–£75,000 DOE
I'm currently recruiting for an exciting Commercial Contracts Manager opportunity with a leading technology business operating within the maritime autonomy and defence sector.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to play a key role in supporting complex, high-profile programmes, working closely with Business Development, Programme Management, and Technical teams.
📍 Location: Edinburgh or Bristol – 3 days per week in the office
💰 Salary: £60,000–£75,000 DOE
📄 Type: Permanent
🔐 Security: Must already hold SC clearance or be eligible and able to obtain SC clearance.
The Role
You'll take ownership of a broad range of commercial and contractual activities across complex, long-term customer programmes, including:
- Managing contracts throughout their lifecycle
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, amendments, and task orders
- Managing change controls, extensions, and option exercises
- Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks
- Working closely with Programme, Technical, and Business Development teams
- Supporting government and defence-related contractual requirements
- Ensuring contractual obligations, milestones, and key dates are effectively managed
- Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting commercial growth across existing programmes

What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with Commercial Contracts professionals who have:
- Experience managing commercial and contractual activities within a complex environment
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and administration experience
- A good understanding of commercial risk management
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities

Desirable: Experience within Defence, Maritime, Aerospace, Government, or another highly regulated environment, as well as exposure to government frameworks or US government contracting.
You don't necessarily need US government contracting experience if you have strong experience managing complex government contracts and can demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a regulated environment.
Due to the security requirements of the role, you must either hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
