Contracts Manager
An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities for Contracts Manager:
- Ensure projects are planned and programmed to the level of detail required for site teams to deliver without delays
- Monitor project resources, challenge overspend, and identify efficiencies to improve programme and margin
- Ensure commercial plans and end-of-life forecasts are in place and monitored monthly
- Review CVRs monthly with project teams and implement necessary actions
- Review and challenge project teams on Cost Plans, identifying risks and opportunities
- Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors and compliance with commercial policies
- Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs, and forecasts
- Manage both temporary and permanent design to meet project requirements
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure direct workforce is allocated in line with programme
- Set the highest standards of HS&E leadership, ensuring compliance with procedures and legal obligations
- Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with HAUC, NRSWA, Chapter 8, and other regulatory standards
- Ensure ITPs and QA Files are produced and maintained, promoting best practice throughout
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, chairing and leading customer meetings

Essential Requirements for Contracts Manager:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the water, utilities, or civil engineering infrastructure sector
- Hands-on experience delivering large infrastructure schemes including pipelines, tunnelling, and pump stations
- Experience working within a direct delivery contractor model managing own workforce
- Strong knowledge of NEC contract including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
- Good working knowledge of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control
- Experience in pre-qualification and tendering for multi-disciplinary projects
- Experience managing HAUC, NRSWA, and Chapter 8 regulatory compliance
- HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
- SMSTS and CSCS card
- Excellent people management, influencing, and mentoring skills
- Proficiency in MS Project; P6 an advantage
