Contract Manager – Soft Facilities Management

Covering Brighton / Crawley / Chichester / Horsham
Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Up to £45,000 basic + bonus
Electric vehicle provided

We’re looking for an experienced Contract Manager to take ownership of a multi-site Soft Facilities Management contract covering cleaning, bulk waste collection and grounds maintenance.

This is a hands-on operational role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring services are delivered to a consistently high standard, while managing teams, budgets, client relationships and performance across multiple sites.

The Role

You’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and performance of the contract, working closely with clients, residents, stakeholders, subcontractors and frontline teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the delivery of cleaning, grounds maintenance and bulk waste services across multiple sites.
  • Conducting regular audits, inspections, estate walkabouts and risk assessments.
  • Ensuring services meet agreed KPIs, contract specifications and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Leading and supporting dispersed frontline teams, including recruitment, onboarding, training, rotas and performance management.
  • Managing subcontractors and ensuring quality, compliance and safe working practices.
  • Monitoring contract budgets and ensuring expenditure remains within agreed limits.
  • Working with clients, residents, housing officers and stakeholders to resolve service issues and maintain strong relationships.
  • Managing customer feedback and service escalations.
  • Responding to incidents, hazards and operational issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities across the contract.
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and environmental compliance.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in Soft Facilities Management who is comfortable managing people, contracts and operational delivery across multiple locations.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience managing soft FM services, particularly cleaning and grounds maintenance.
  • Experience managing £1m+ contracts with strong commercial and operational oversight.
  • Strong people-management experience, ideally leading dispersed or frontline teams.
  • Experience with budget management and exposure to full P&L accountability.
  • A track record of managing multi-site facilities management contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, compliance and industry best practice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent would be advantageous.
