We're looking for an experienced Contract Manager to lead the successful delivery of drainage, highways and civil engineering projects across Yorkshire and the North East. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven leader who thrives on building high-performing teams, developing client relationships and delivering operational excellence.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the safe, compliant and profitable delivery of projects while leading Project Managers, Construction Managers and operational teams. You'll work closely with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of highways, drainage and civil engineering contracts
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Managing project performance, programme delivery and commercial outcomes
  • Developing and leading high-performing operational teams
  • Supporting tendering activities and identifying opportunities for business growth
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across your contracts

About You

You'll be a proven Contract Manager, Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager with significant experience within highways, drainage or civil engineering environments.

You'll ideally have:

  • Extensive experience delivering National Highways or local authority infrastructure projects
  • Strong commercial and contract management experience
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and operational compliance
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
  • HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • SMSTS and CSCS Manager Card
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
