Contracts Manager – Design & Build Substations and HV Cabling for New Connections – EPC

People in Power | South Wales

HV / EHV Substations & New Connections – Up to 400kV

About People in Power

People in Power is a specialist recruitment consultancy operating across the Transmission & Distribution and wider power infrastructure market throughout the UK and Europe. We offer a very different service to traditional recruitment agencies, partnering directly with Directors and senior leadership teams across leading EPCs and ICPs to provide consultative and strategic recruitment support for major power infrastructure programmes. We are currently supporting a leading EPC with the appointment of an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee its growing portfolio of new connections projects across South Wales.

The Role

The Contracts Manager will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a portfolio of major HV/EHV substation and associated cabling projects, primarily supporting new connections for large-scale data centre and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developments. This is a senior leadership role, sitting above the Senior Project Management function, with accountability for multiple live projects, delivery performance, commercial outcomes and client relationships across the region. You will provide strategic and operational oversight from design and mobilisation through construction, commissioning, energisation and final handover.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
