Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering
Location: Bristol / South West
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + Car/Car Allowance + Package + Bonus
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager looking to progress into a Contracts Manager position with an established civil engineering contractor in the South West.
You do not necessarily need to already hold the title of Contracts Manager. The focus is on finding someone with strong project delivery experience, a solid technical background, and the leadership capability to take on broader operational responsibility.
The Role
Working as part of an established regional team, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering projects across the South West.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
- Leading and supporting site-based project teams
- Developing and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
- Working closely with commercial teams to maintain strong financial performance
- Managing programme, risk, and overall project performance
- Supporting pre-construction and planning activities
- Providing leadership and direction to project teams
- Maintaining effective communication between clients, operational teams, and senior management

About You
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience operating at Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level
- A career developed through an engineering or site-delivery route
- A strong background within civil engineering contracting
- Successful delivery of significant civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Overall responsibility for project delivery rather than solely individual packages
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- A good understanding of programme, commercial performance, and project risk
- Experience within infrastructure, highways, or major civil engineering projects
