About the Role:

As a Contracts Manager, you will play a critical part in ensuring the seamless delivery of projects, working closely with our skilled team out of our HQ in Newton Abbot. You will have the chance to take ownership of exciting projects, from initial setup to successful completion, ensuring each one is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead project setup activities in collaboration with the estimating team to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs, discuss project details, and provide exceptional service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Compile and send RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for planned works, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
  • Develop clear and detailed work instructions for onsite teams, facilitating efficient and safe operations.
  • Process and manage completed work sheets and review submitted forms from the crews to maintain accuracy and accountability.
  • Conduct time sheet reviews for assigned crews, ensuring accurate tracking and resource management.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimise project workflows.
  • You will be responsible for the activities of the contracts supervisor, who will be under the instruction of the Contracts Manager.

What we are looking for:

  • A proactive individual with excellent communication skills, confident on the phone and in person.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a can-do attitude and a drive for excellence.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in project management within the highways sector, or a related field is desirable but not essential – we value motivated individuals willing to learn!
