Contracts Manager – Highways & Civil Engineering
Bristol
£65,000 & £70,000 & Exceptional benefits package
Sphere Solutions are working with a leading Highways & Civil Engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join their South West Civils team.
This is a key leadership role overseeing the successful delivery and growth of highways and civil engineering projects from Exeter to Gloucester, with projects typically valued between £1 million and £15 million.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage up to three projects simultaneously
- Ensuring programme, quality, safety and commercial targets are achieved
- Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and site teams
- Support the business in securing new work through frameworks and competitive tenders
- Work with Pre-Construction and Planning teams
- Build strong relationships with clients, local authorities, stakeholders, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.

About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Contracts Manager-level role.
- Proven background in highways, civil engineering or infrastructure.
- Experience managing multiple projects and operational delivery teams.
- Experience working with framework agreements and competitive tenders.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- SMSTS qualified
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West from Exeter to Gloucester
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models is preferred

Package
- Salary £65,000-£70,000 depending on experience
