Role: Contract Manager
Role Overview
The Contract Manager oversees the strategic commercial and contractual framework, ensuring robust governance, disciplined execution, and risk management across multiple defence and national security programmes. The role involves managing deliverables for Defence and National Security customers, as well as the contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and partners. The Contract Manager drives responsible growth for Ocean Infinity by developing licensing models, compliance assurance, and scalable economics that enable international expansion.
This position is the primary commercial authority responsible for contract lifecycle management — from negotiation, flow-downs, and implementation to performance tracking and close-out. You’ll collaborate across multiple teams, ensuring corporate commitments are met with commercial governance and partnering models supporting meaningful growth.
Key Focus Areas:
- Contract lifecycle management across multiple programmes, including customer contracts, subcontractors, and supplier agreements
- Negotiation and compliance with MOD contract frameworks and Defence regulation
- Development of licensing structures and IP/IPR strategies to enable reusable assets and commercial scalability
- Alignment with defence project delivery needs — balancing strategic contractual requirements with tactical execution
Key Responsibilities
MOD Contract Management
- Lead commercial management for MOD customer contracts, ensuring requirements are met, obligations are clear, and outcomes are delivered tactically to drive success and customer confidence.
- Ensure aligned enterprise-wide compliance, milestones, reporting, and change management, ultimately protecting delivery timelines and commercial interests.
- Maintain compliance with defence contractual standards, DEFCONs, DEFSTANs, JSPs, and procurement laws — translating these regulations into clear commercial controls.
- Act as the primary audit and governance lead for MOD matters, maintaining an audit-ready approach to risk management, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Shape changes, variations, and determining claims aggressively, all while protecting commercial value.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
