Location: Birmingham or London (Hybrid Working – 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)
Rate: Up to £650 per day (Umbrella), depending on experience
Contract: Until March 2027

CETO Talent is recruiting experienced Contracts Managers and Senior Contracts Managers to support the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes.
We’re looking to speak with commercial professionals who have extensive experience managing complex NEC contracts within major infrastructure, rail, construction or public sector environments. Whether you’re an experienced Contracts Manager looking for your next challenge or a Senior Contracts Manager capable of providing strategic commercial leadership, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing high-value corporate contracts throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining strong governance, contractual compliance and value for money.
Working alongside engineering, procurement, legal, commercial and project teams, you’ll oversee contract administration, supplier performance, commercial risk, contract changes and dispute resolution across nationally significant infrastructure projects.
For Senior Contracts Managers, the role will also include providing commercial leadership, coaching colleagues, supporting governance and acting as the subject matter expert for NEC contract administration across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual performance of complex infrastructure contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met while supporting successful project delivery.
- Administer NEC contracts, manage contract changes, compensation events and early warnings, oversee supplier performance, monitor KPIs, manage contractual risk and support governance processes throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Review commercial and technical information, prepare reports for senior stakeholders, undertake contract compliance reviews, support procurement activities and work closely with project delivery teams to resolve contractual issues and achieve successful commercial outcomes.
- Provide commercial assurance, mentor Contracts Managers, support business cases, lead negotiations and provide expert contractual advice to senior leadership teams.

About You
We’re looking for experienced Contracts Managers and Senior Contracts Managers with a strong background delivering commercial contract management within major infrastructure, rail, transport, utilities, construction or other regulated environments.
Successful candidates are likely to have experience in:

You’ll be an excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills and the confidence to manage complex contractual matters while building productive relationships with internal teams and suppliers.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience managing complex commercial contracts within infrastructure, engineering or the public sector.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration.
- Experience managing contract change, commercial risk and supplier performance.
- Excellent commercial, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of public procurement regulations (PCR/UCR) and experience working with publicly funded organisations is highly desirable.
- Strong reporting, governance and commercial assurance experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, with knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Project or CEMAR considered advantageous.
- Professional qualifications such as NEC Accreditation, MCIPS or MRICS would be beneficial.
