Contracts Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £110,000 – £120,000 + Full Package
About the Company
A leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, residential, industrial, and commercial projects across the Midlands and wider UK is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple live schemes across the Redditch region.
With a strong reputation for quality delivery and a significant secured workload, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and highly respected contractor.
The Role
The Contracts Manager will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple live projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will oversee operational teams, site management, subcontractors, and client relationships while driving performance across all phases of delivery.
This is a senior leadership position offering long-term progression within a growing contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects simultaneously
- Leading site teams including Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
- Monitoring commercial performance alongside surveying teams
- Managing client relationships and attending progress meetings
- Driving programme delivery and resolving operational challenges
- Overseeing health & safety compliance across all sites
- Supporting pre-construction and planning activities where required
- Managing subcontractor performance and operational standards
- Producing regular progress and performance reports for senior leadership

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong background delivering residential, industrial, infrastructure, or commercial projects
- Excellent leadership and operational management skills
- Strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage project performance
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred
