Role Description
The Contract Manager is a full-time, off-site role based out of the Greater Southampton Area, responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of fit-out projects from initiation to completion. This role manages contract documentation, negotiates terms with clients and suppliers, and ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards throughout the project lifecycle.

- Monitoring project budgets and costs
- Managing variations and claims
- Coordinating with clients' project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to keep delivery aligned with contractual obligations
The Contract Manager will track key milestones, maintain accurate records, prepare regular reports on contract performance and risk, and support decision-making to ensure projects are delivered on time and within agreed financial parameters. The role also involves fostering strong client relationships, addressing contractual queries, and contributing to continuous improvement of contract management processes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in contract management, commercial management, or quantity surveying within construction, fit-out, or related industries.
- Strong skills in contract drafting, review, and negotiation, with familiarity with common construction contract forms and legal frameworks.
- Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting, including managing variations, claims, and contract adjustments.
- Ability to coordinate with project management, site teams, and subcontractors to align contractual obligations with project delivery.
- Solid understanding of compliance requirements, including building regulations, health and safety standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, project management, or contract management systems).
