Main Purpose of the Role
The Contract Manager plays a critical role within the Cornerstone Sales & Commercial Team. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the successful implementation, delivery, and management of Power as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Coverage as a Service (CaaS) contracts, driving customer satisfaction, service level agreement (SLA) compliance, commercial performance, and revenue generation. The role is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle, maintaining strong customer relationships, mitigating contractual risks, and ensuring alignment with Cornerstone's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Commercial Oversight
- Manage a portfolio of active PaaS, IaaS, and CaaS contracts.
- Evaluate contract proposals and provide recommendations aligned with business strategy and commercial objectives.
- Develop and implement effective contract lifecycle management strategies.
- Oversee contract implementation to ensure all deliverables are achieved in line with agreed timelines, specifications, and contractual commitments.
- Manage contract amendments, variations, renewals, and extensions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Resolve contractual disputes and facilitate successful contract modifications where required.
- Maintain accurate contract records, documentation, and governance processes.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across existing and prospective customer accounts.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders on contractual and commercial matters.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leaders and customer stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between customers and internal teams throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with Technical Experts, Strategic Account Leads, New Business Managers, Legal, Finance, and Operational teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.

Performance Management & Reporting
- Monitor contract performance against agreed SLAs, KPIs, and commercial commitments.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, issues, and performance concerns.
- Prepare regular reports on contract performance, customer satisfaction, revenue generation, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct contract audits and performance reviews to support continuous improvement.
- Analyse contract data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for operational improvement.
- Escalate critical issues appropriately and drive resolution through effective stakeholder engagement.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure contractual compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
- Support and actively contribute to Cornerstone's:
- Health & Safety obligations
- Environmental commitments
- Business Continuity arrangements
- Information Security standards
- Regulatory Compliance framework
- Monitor contract compliance and manage corrective actions where required.
- Ensure robust risk management practices are embedded throughout contract execution and delivery.
Role Expertise
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of PaaS, IaaS, and CaaS commercial and contractual frameworks.
- Experience in SLA management, service performance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements relating to contract management.
- Knowledge of governance, business continuity, information security, environmental, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to analyse complex contract data and identify strategic improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to balance customer needs with business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in contract management within the telecommunications, infrastructure, technology, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of contract management methodologies and best practice.
- Experience managing complex commercial contracts throughout the full lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to build strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable
- Experience working within the mobile telecommunications infrastructure sector.
- Knowledge of Power as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Coverage as a Service (CaaS) solutions.
- Experience managing contracts with major enterprise or public sector customers.
- Commercial, procurement, or contract management certification.
Education & Qualifications
Essential
- Degree-level qualification in Business, Commercial Management, Law, Telecommunications, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Desirable
- Professional qualification in Contract Management, Commercial Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as:
- World Commerce & Contracting (WCC)
- CIPS
- Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM)
- NEC Contract Management qualifications
