Role Description

The Contract Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Edinburgh, responsible for overseeing the effective delivery and performance of facilities management contracts. This role includes managing contractual obligations, monitoring service levels, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements. The Contract Manager will coordinate with internal teams and external partners, manage budgets and forecasts, and support lifecycle and asset management planning. Daily activities involve reviewing performance reports, leading client meetings, addressing issues and escalations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across hard and soft FM services. The role also includes preparing contract documentation, supporting bids and renewals, and promoting a culture of safety, quality, and customer service.

  • Experience in facilities management contract oversight, including performance management, service level monitoring, and lifecycle or asset management planning.
  • Skills in budgeting, cost control, and commercial management, with the ability to analyze financial data and support contract profitability.
  • Strong stakeholder and client relationship management capabilities, including negotiation, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of compliance, health and safety regulations, and quality management systems relevant to facilities and property services.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, allocate resources, and manage suppliers or subcontractors.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Previous experience in FM, construction, property, or related sectors, ideally within public sector or mission-critical environments.
  • Relevant professional qualification or degree in facilities management, business, engineering, or a related field; professional membership (e.g., IWFM) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with contract management systems, CAFM or FM software, and standard office applications.
  • Ability to work on-site in Edinburgh, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.
