The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and project objectives across our energy sector operations.

You will act as a key business partner, working closely with project management, legal, sales, procurement, and operational teams to ensure effective contract execution, risk mitigation, and commercial success throughout the project lifecycle.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a variety of contracts, including sales, procurement, service, and partnership agreements with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with Hitachi Energy policies, legal requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, providing interpretation of contract terms and resolving contractual issues and disputes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, implementing strategies to protect the company's commercial and legal interests.
  • Partner with project managers, legal counsel, sales, and procurement teams to support successful contract execution and project delivery.
  • Monitor contract performance, milestones, deliverables, and payment terms, identifying and addressing potential deviations.
  • Manage contract amendments, extensions, renewals, and terminations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and ensure all documentation is properly stored and accessible.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, risk management, and best practices.
  • Support the continuous improvement of contract management processes, systems, and tools.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Quantity Survey, Law, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Master's degree and/or professional legal qualification (e.g., LPC, LLM) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in contract management, preferably within the energy, infrastructure, engineering, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms and conditions, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial contracts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
  • Proficiency with contract management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
