Company Description
Founded in 2008, Goom Electrical has grown into one of the UK's trusted providers of electrical compliance and project delivery services. Starting as a specialist electrical compliance contractor, we have built long-term partnerships with some of the UK's largest Housing Associations, NHS Trusts and educational institutions. Our core expertise is the large-scale delivery of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), supported by robust systems, highly skilled engineers and a proven track record of delivering quality, compliance and exceptional customer service. Alongside our compliance services, we successfully deliver complex Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects across the commercial, healthcare and education sectors. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an ambitious Contract Officer to join our expanding team.
The Role
As a Contract Officer, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day administration and coordination of your allocated contracts and clients.
You will work closely with residents, engineers, clients and colleagues to ensure appointments are successfully booked, contractual requirements are achieved, paperwork is completed and our clients receive an excellent level of service.
This is a busy and varied role suited to someone who is highly organised, confident communicating with different people and enjoys taking ownership of their work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
