Location: Oldbury/Droitwich, West Midlands
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Working pattern: Predominantly Monday to Friday and fully site-based, with flexibility during mobilisation and peak periods

The role

Rapid Pack is launching a significant new dedicated co-packing, storage and logistics operation for a major customer.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Contract Operations Manager to mobilise the operation and take responsibility for its ongoing performance.

This is not a desk-based contract-administration role. You will own the customer relationship, production performance, labour efficiency, quality controls and financial delivery of the account.

The products arrive in sealed primary packaging. Rapid Pack will undertake secondary packing, labelling, cartoning, pallet building, storage and related logistics. The role does not involve manufacturing products or routinely handling exposed items.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the mobilisation and implementation of the contract
  • Act as the principal day-to-day operational contact for the customer
  • Translate forecasts into production and staffing plans
  • Manage the production lead and wider packing team
  • Monitor output, paid labour hours and cost per completed unit
  • Build efficient workflows and continuously improve productivity
  • Maintain accurate batch, lot, expiry-date, stock, waste and production records
  • Ensure hygiene, segregation, traceability and quality procedures are followed
  • Oversee first-off, in-process and finished-pack checks
  • Investigate complaints, rework and non-conformances
  • Implement corrective actions and prevent recurring failures
  • Coordinate warehouse, systems and technical requirements
  • Produce performance reports for the customer and senior management
  • Ensure all chargeable work, materials and services are captured for invoicing
  • Control agency labour, overtime and other account expenditure
  • Take responsibility for the account’s operational contribution and margin

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience with sealed food, supplements, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or other controlled consumer products would be advantageous but is not essential.
