Contract Recruitment Consultant – Engineering & Infrastructure

Fully Remote | £40,000–£50,000 + Uncapped Commission

The best contract recruiters don’t need managing. They need trusting.

If you’ve built a successful contract desk in engineering or infrastructure, you’re probably not looking for another employer. You’re looking for more freedom, better support, and a business that gets out of your way so you can bill.

This is one of those rare opportunities.

You’ll join a specialist recruitment business that’s already proven its model. Built by someone with over 15 years of experience in engineering and infrastructure recruitment, the company has grown quickly by focusing on contractor experience, operational excellence and long-term relationships rather than layers of process.

It’s fully remote because that’s how the business was designed from day one. The team is spread across the UK (and beyond), meeting regularly online, catching up in person when it adds value, and travelling together to visit clients across the UK and Europe. You’re trusted to organise your own day, build your own market and work in the way that suits you best.

There are no pointless KPIs. No micromanagement. No clock watching.

Instead, you’ll have the technology, funding and operational support to build a genuinely high-performing contract desk.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Compliance, contractor onboarding and payroll are already streamlined. Contractors receive exceptional support, including an optional fast-payment service that’s become a real differentiator and keeps people coming back contract after contract. The back-office exists to make your life easier, not harder.

You’ll also have access to a first-class recruitment technology stack including LinkedIn Recruiter, SourceWhale, CV-Library, Lusha and a fully integrated CRM with AI-assisted workflows, giving you every opportunity to spend more time recruiting and less time on admin.

This is a genuine 360 role.

You’ll develop new client relationships, grow existing accounts, build contractor networks and manage your own desk from start to finish. Whether you already specialise in rail, nuclear, renewables, power, utilities, civil engineering or another infrastructure market, you’ll have the freedom to build around your strengths.

The business already has strong funding facilities, an established contractor platform and the ability to onboard clients across the UK, Europe and internationally. You’re not starting from scratch - you’ll be joining a business that’s already generating significant revenue and is investing in its next stage of growth.

If you’ve consistently billed at least £5,000+ GP per week in contract recruitment, or you’ve built a successful engineering or infrastructure recruitment desk and want somewhere that gives you more autonomy, you’ll be exactly the kind of person we’d like to speak to.

Previous remote working experience would be helpful, but more important is your ability to motivate yourself, build relationships and take ownership without someone standing over your shoulder.

What You’ll Get

  • Fully remote working from anywhere in the UK.
  • £40,000–£50,000 basic salary (depending on experience).
  • Uncapped commission.
  • Complete autonomy over your desk, market and working pattern.
  • High-quality technology stack including LinkedIn Recruiter, SourceWhale, CV-Library and Lusha.
  • Dedicated operations support covering compliance, onboarding and contractor care.
  • Opportunity to travel with clients across the UK and internationally.
  • Backing from a well-funded, growing business with genuine long-term ambitions.
  • Potential for tailored transition support for exceptional contract recruiters.

If your CV isn’t completely up to date, don’t let that stop you.

An older CV or even your LinkedIn profile is enough to start the conversation. What’s more important is your track record, your market knowledge and whether this sounds like the kind of environment where you’d do your best work.
