Location: Badersfield, Norfolk

(Please note: due to the rural location, applicants must have access to their own transport)

Contract: Fixed-Term until December 2026, with potential long-term and permanent opportunities

Hours: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or Support Worker looking for a rewarding role within a specialist SEMH school?

Do you have experience supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges or additional learning needs?

Inspire EHC is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Badersfield, Norfolk, to recruit a dedicated Contract SEN Teaching Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school where positive relationships, consistency and personalised support help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis until December 2026, with the possibility of a long-term or permanent role for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Contract SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students both in and out of the classroom, helping them access learning and develop positive relationships with education.

Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and other professionals, you will provide consistent support and encouragement to pupils who may have faced challenges throughout their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges and additional learning needs
  • Deliver personalised learning activities and interventions
  • Build positive relationships with students to support engagement and progress
  • Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encourage confidence, resilience and independence
  • Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes and wider school activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
  • Monitor pupil progress and celebrate achievements
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Ability to build positive professional relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude
  • Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Desirable Qualifications

  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Childcare qualification
  • Health and Social Care qualification
  • Team Teach, MAPA or behaviour management training
