Senior Software Engineering Consultant (Contract)
AI Software Engineering Consulting
£450-500 per day | Outside IR35 | 3 & 6 Month Contracts
Leeds
Hybrid / Flexible Working (Must be UK based)

We're looking for experienced Software Engineering Consultants who thrive in complex environments, enjoy solving difficult technical challenges and want to work closely with clients to shape products, platforms and technology decisions.
This isn't a role where you'll simply deliver tickets from a backlog.
You'll work directly with clients, contribute to architecture and technical strategy, build modern software products and leverage AI-enabled development practices to help teams deliver value at exceptional pace.

What you'll be doing
- Designing and building modern digital products and platforms
- Developing high-quality software using TypeScript, Node.js, React and Next.js
- Working closely with product, design and delivery teams
- Engaging directly with clients to understand challenges and define solutions
- Influencing technical direction, architectural decisions and product roadmaps
- Building AI-powered capabilities and integrating emerging technologies where they deliver genuine value
- Supporting modern cloud-based delivery environments across AWS and Azure
- Promoting engineering best practice including testing, code quality, CI/CD and security
What we're looking for
- Strong commercial software engineering experience
- Excellent TypeScript, Node.js, React and/or Next.js knowledge
- Experience delivering production-grade software solutions
- The ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems
- Strong stakeholder and client-facing communication skills
- Experience working in consultancy, agency, product-led or fast-paced engineering environments
- Exposure to AI, LLMs, machine learning integrations or AI-assisted development workflows
- Experience working within cloud environments (Azure & AWS) and modern engineering practices
