Freelance Sponsorship Sales Manager

Location: Fully remote
Contract: Freelance / Contract
Commitment: Full-time or part-time, minimum three days per week
Duration: Initial three-month contract, with strong potential to extend
Start date: ASAP
Compensation: Flexible day rate depending on experience, broadly aligned with £40,000-£60,000 annualised, plus performance-related bonus

The Opportunity

We are working with a growing events business seeking an experienced Freelance Sponsorship Sales Manager to take ownership of key commercial projects. This is a hands-on, revenue-focused role for someone who can quickly understand the proposition, build a strong sales pipeline and secure sponsorship partnerships with senior decision-makers. You will manage the full sponsorship sales process, from identifying and approaching prospective partners through to developing proposals, negotiating agreements and closing deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of sponsorship sales across assigned events and commercial projects.
  • Identify and approach prospective sponsors across relevant sectors.
  • Build and manage a strong new business pipeline.
  • Develop tailored sponsorship proposals and commercial packages.
  • Engage senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, Partners and Heads of Department.
  • Lead negotiations and close sponsorship agreements.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast and revenue reporting.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure sold partnerships can be successfully delivered.
  • Generate revenue quickly within a fast-paced contract environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong sponsorship sales experience within the events industry.
  • Proven track record of generating new business revenue and closing sponsorship deals.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract.
  • Confident engaging and influencing senior decision-makers.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable joining a business and becoming productive quickly.
  • Available to start at short notice.
  • Experience selling into the financial services, insurance or legal sectors would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
