We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Contract Support Officer to safeguard prominent facilities in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and professional environment, and delivering a high level of security across our sites in London. You will possess a strong background in the security sector, ideally within a corporate security environment, and be confident working independently on a one-person site.

You will demonstrate excellent IT skills, the ability to multitask and strong attention to detail, while maintaining a professional and polished demeanour alongside excellent personal presentation. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will regularly interact with staff, visitors and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working alone, using their own initiative and making appropriate decisions without the immediate support of other security officers on site. You will be expected to remain vigilant throughout your shift, respond effectively to emergencies and ensure that all incidents and relevant information are communicated and documented to the required standard.

Within this role, you will carry out ID checks, respond to emergencies, provide information to staff and visitors, monitor the site and act as a professional first point of contact.

Role: Contract Support Officer

Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour

Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends (Minimum 12 Hours)

Location: London

Role Requirements: SIA License

Must have:

  • Valid SIA licence
  • Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year)
  • Minimum 1 year's experience within a corporate security environment
  • Experience working independently and/or on one-person security sites
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to work confidently on own initiative
  • Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong surveillance skills and attention to detail
  • 5-year checkable work history
  • IT literate with the ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently and escalate issues appropriately

Main Duties:

  • Act as a point of contact and information centre for staff and visitors
  • Ensure all visitors and other callers to the company are provided with clear, concise and professional information in person, over the phone or by email
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the site
  • Take responsibility for the security of the site while working independently
  • Report any issues to the supervisor or duty manager
  • Always conduct yourself in a professional manner
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents
  • Deal with conflict in an appropriate and professional manner when required
  • Write up incidents to the standard expected by Management
  • Carry out ID checks
  • Remain vigilant to Health and Safety risks and report any concerns
  • Monitor the site and identify any suspicious activity or potential security risks
  • Work proactively and confidently on own initiative
  • Ensure that the reception area, foyer, staff area and boardroom are kept clean by supervising cleaning staff members
