As a Contract Support Officer you will be the access control to the building, meeting and greeting visitors, contractors and staff, you will be vigilant and be the first point of call for any suspicious activity. Within this you will carry out ID checks, respond to emergencies and provide information to all staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will need to have customer service experience and excellent personal presentation, as these sites can be very busy dealing with members of the public, outside working, patrolling and Front of House duties as required. The suitable candidate will be able to cover sickness, holidays and events when required, including last minute cover when contacted. Full flexibility is a must for this role.
Role: Contract Support Officer
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends (full flexibility required)
Location: Kent
Role Requirements: Door Supervisor SIA licence and UK Driving licence

Main Duties:
- To provide the security measures necessary for the safeguarding of the property and people within the premises
- Cover reception duties if/when required (Front of House experience is desired)
- To protect the premises above from possible unauthorised entry by use of force or illegal instruments whereby a loss of goods may result in subsequent damage to the client's business.
- To ensure effective security of the assigned patrol locations against damage by fire, water, theft or vandalism.
- To detect, where possible, those responsible for losses or malicious damage to the client's property.
- To ensure that all persons wishing to enter the premises are fully identified as belonging to either the authorised client's personnel or visitors whom the client management can verify.
- To ensure that all reasonable instructions the client issues are implicitly and swiftly acknowledged.
- To provide a robust and efficient emergency response system to any emergency within the premises/building.
- To offer advice / assistance staff and visitors
- Protect the premises, property and personnel from theft, damage and violence
- Patrol the site and buildings to prevent fire, flood, theft and damage
- To deter unauthorised activity
- Search premises and people as instructed
- Provide access to cleaners and maintenance staff as instructed
- Provide first aid response
- Provide staff to assist, as directed, in support of programmes, corporate events and functions
- Checking and validating all staff, visitors and contractors passes
- Issue and log keys; ensure their security and safe return after use
- Operating, monitoring and responding to installed security and safety systems including CCTV, access control, intruder and fire alarms
- Maintaining a log of occurrences
- Production of incident reports
- Direct and assist visitors
- Locking and unlocking of offices as necessary
- Checking of firefighting equipment
- Monitoring and overseeing the effective performance of security equipment
- Comply with and operate site security instructions and policies
- Comply with and operate site emergency and Health & Safety procedures; respond as necessary to emergencies, including assistance to the emergency services in the event of fire/bomb threats

Must Haves:
- Valid SIA licence
- Valid CCTV licence (desired, not essential)
- UK Drivers licence (preferable)
- Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High level of self-presentation
- IT literate- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
