Role
We are now looking to employ a Contract Surveyor (fixed Term contract, maternity cover) to become part of our team.
- Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 17:00pm & Friday, 08:00am to 16:00pm.
- Salary: Competitive
- Start Date: August 2026 (duration: 14 months)

Job Description
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.
- Working closely with the Contracts Management, Estimating & Buying departments to ensure the commercial viability of contracts.
- Attend pre-start meetings.
- Checks against sub-contract orders.
- Taking an active role in Veitchi Flooring supply chain management to ensure relationships are developed with key manufacturers, suppliers & subcontractors.
- Taking full commercial control of projects. Preparing interim valuations and agreeing final accounts.
- Placing all subcontract orders to ensure best value for business.
- Preparing monthly cost to value reports.
- Carrying out Site Measurements.
- Controlling Variations and all other Project costs.
- Agreeing and negotiating Final account settlements.

Knowledge, Experience & Requirements
- Honesty and Integrity are key requirements.
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within a contracting organisation.
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision and ability to solve problems by acting on own initiative.
- Able to show track record of performing within a performance management environment, consistently achieving better than tender margins.
- Experience with Software such as MS word and excel.
- Driving Licence Essential
