Contract Tester – Enterprise Systems | Remote | Inside IR35 | Immediate Start
An established IT services organisation is seeking an experienced Tester to join a major client engagement on a long-term programme of work. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on testing professional to work across complex enterprise environments, supporting the delivery of robust, secure, and high-quality digital solutions.
This is an immediate start opportunity, offering remote working, with occasional fully expensed travel to London and Bristol as required.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: Initial 12 months, with strong extension potential
- Location: Remote, with occasional travel to London and Bristol
- Start Date: Immediate
- Rate: Up to £315 per day via umbrella
- IR35 Status: Inside IR35
- Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible for and willing to undergo BPSS clearance
The Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of solutions delivered across a diverse technology landscape. This is a broad and varied testing position that extends beyond traditional software testing, encompassing infrastructure, environments, deployments, integrations, and enterprise applications.
Working closely with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and project delivery teams, the Tester will contribute to the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of testing activities across multiple programmes.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test plans across infrastructure, backend services, and application layers
- Validate deployments, configuration changes, and environment stability across cloud, server, and CI/CD environments
- Perform integration, regression, system, and performance testing activities
- Test APIs, services, and complex integration points
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and issues early in the delivery lifecycle
- Automate repetitive testing activities using appropriate tools and frameworks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to testing practices, tooling, and processes
- Contribute to successful delivery outcomes across multiple client engagements
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven commercial experience in manual testing, complemented by exposure to test automation
- Strong experience testing large-scale enterprise systems and applications
- Experience testing Java-based and Oracle web applications
- Experience supporting Windows 11 application testing within an Evergreen environment
- Familiarity with cloud and infrastructure environments, including Azure, AWS, and/or on-premise platforms
- Experience testing APIs, services, and integrations
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Postman, Jenkins, JMeter, or equivalent
- Experience of system integration testing and data migration testing
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to understand business processes and translate requirements into effective testing strategies

Desirable Skills
- Understanding of networking technologies, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines
- Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Experience validating Infrastructure-as-Code implementations using tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualifications
- Additional technical certifications
About You
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable testing professional with at least three years' experience operating within large enterprise environments. You will be comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams and will take ownership of delivering high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
