Contractor Opportunity – Flexible, Ad-Hoc Engagement (Daily Rate)

This position is offered on a contractor basis rather than as a permanent or fixed-hours role. We are seeking multiple qualified instructors who are open to flexible, demand-based work. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on training demand. Engagements will be assigned based on operational needs, availability, and skill alignment. This opportunity is ideal for professionals looking to supplement their current commitments with ad-hoc instruction days at our London Training Centre.

Location: Acron Aviation Training Centre, Crawley, West Sussex, UK

Purpose of Role

The Authority Approved syllabus of Technical Ground School is an integral part of the course leading to the endorsement of a Type Rating. The course includes a pure technical element followed by performance, load and balance, low visibility operations, PBN and UPRT. The technical element phase includes Standard Operating Procedures within a Flat Panel Trainer environment including FMS training.

Key Duties Technical Expertise

  • To teach technical/performance topics in compliance with the type training syllabus, Airbus/Boeing OSD and Approved Acron Aviation Training Manual.
  • To monitor and report on trainee progress using Acron Aviation approved systems and processes.
  • To provide guidance and support to individual trainees as required.

Success Indicators: Full compliance during audits; High trainee pass rates and positive feedback.

  • In-depth knowledge of A320/A330/B737 aircraft systems, SOPs and abnormal operating procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with trainees of all ages and abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, carrying out any assigned work until completion.
  • International outlook with the ability to comfortably deal with various cultures.
  • Strong organizational and customer skills.
  • Capacity to deal with people in a polite, approachable and friendly manner.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Teaching experience, ideally in a classroom setting, delivering technical subjects - essential
  • Aviation experience, either as flight crew, or in a role which gives the required background knowledge to be able to deliver the syllabus lessons with credibility.
