Contract TypeScript Engineer
Are you a senior engineer who thrives on turning intricate technical requirements into clean, resilient code? RMG is representing an established B2B SaaS business seeking a high-calibre Contract TypeScript Engineer to make an immediate impact on a core, business-critical platform.
Based in London on a hybrid arrangement, this full-time contract role places you at the heart of an active product engineering team. You will be responsible for architecting and shipping mission-critical features, strengthening backend services, and scaling modern SaaS systems to support sustained platform growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable features using TypeScript across a modern multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Build, integrate, and enhance backend services, microservices, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
- Translate product specifications into secure, high-availability technical architectures alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
- Improve system performance, refine data models, and manage database integrations across SQL and NoSQL stores.
- Maintain engineering excellence by implementing automated tests, participating in rigorous code reviews, and optimising CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience
- Deep commercial expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+), with a strong command of static typing principles.
- Proven track record in server-side development using Node.js to deliver scalable backend services.
- Extensive experience building, supporting, and scaling core B2B SaaS platforms.
- Hands-on background in API design, microservices, and system architecture for high-availability environments.
- Practical knowledge of automated testing (such as Jest), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and Agile collaboration using Git.

Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with enterprise Node.js frameworks such as NestJS.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks, particularly React or Next.js, for full-stack integration.
- Commercial exposure to cloud platforms and deployment environments, specifically AWS or Azure.
