Contract Workday Financials Implementation Project Manager
Location: Remote with travel to Italy (Once per month)
Contract Length: 6 Months (initially)
Rate: £650 - £700 per day inside IR35
Start Date: ASAP
The Opportunity
We are supporting a leading organisation embarking on a critical Workday Financials transformation and are looking for an experienced Workday Financials Implementation Project Manager to help drive the programme forward.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in steering committees and produce status reports. We need a hands-on delivery specialist who can roll their sleeves up, tackle challenges head-on, and bring structure, pace, and accountability to a complex implementation.
The project requires a strong personality. Someone who can confidently manage senior stakeholders, challenge where necessary, and take ownership of delivering outcomes. We are looking for an individual with a few battle scars from previous Workday programmes who knows how to navigate difficult situations and keep projects on track.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a Workday Financials implementation programme.
- Develop and maintain project plans, governance structures, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Manage internal stakeholders, implementation partners, and third-party vendors.
- Drive accountability across workstreams and ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Identify programme risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and executive-level updates.
- Resolve blockers and keep momentum across the programme.
- Travel to Italy approximately once per month to engage with key stakeholders and project teams.

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end Workday Financials implementations.
- Strong Project Management background within ERP, Finance Transformation, or Workday programmes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including C-suite engagement.
- Ability to operate confidently within complex and challenging environments.
- A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a willingness to get stuck into the detail when required.
- Experience recovering or stabilising projects would be highly advantageous.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
