We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Contracting Administrator to join our Midlands Contracting Pave team based at Agecroft, Salford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys variety, taking ownership and working closely with operational teams to make a real impact.
Whether you're currently working in administration within construction, manufacturing, logistics or another busy operational environment, if you're highly organised, confident using IT systems and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Senior Administrator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the contracting operation, providing administrative support, coordinating plant activity and ensuring key business processes are managed efficiently and accurately. Your responsibilities will include:
- Recording and maintaining weekly plant allocation information within SAP
- Managing a range of administrative activities including updating spreadsheets, processing operative timesheets, producing reports and maintaining records
- Investigating and resolving timesheet queries in a timely manner
- Supporting the efficient and cost-effective operation of site and contracting activities
- Raising purchase orders for subcontractors and managing related communications
- Reviewing subcontractor payment applications against approved rates and processing payments for approval
- Maintaining holiday, absence and return-to-work records for staff and operatives
- Coordinating training activities and ensuring employee training records remain up to date
- Supporting compliance with Health and Safety policies and monitoring mandatory training completion
- Creating and managing site activities and purchase order requisitions within SAP
- Building positive relationships with suppliers and the wider supply chain to support operational delivery

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are the same. Suitable candidates will have experience in an administrative role ideally within construction, manufacturing, engineering, logistics or another operational setting. You'll also bring:
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and planning abilities
- A flexible and adaptable approach
- Confidence managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A positive, can-do attitude
- The ability to work independently whilst remaining a strong team player
- Resilience and a calm approach when working under pressure
- A results-focused mindset with the confidence to influence and support others
Location: this role is easily accessible from Manchester, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Ashton-under-Lyne, Warrington, Wigan, St Helens, Chorley and surrounding areas.
