About Well Life Clinic
Well Life Clinic is a fast-growing healthcare provider delivering NHS and private services across neurodiversity care, community elective specialties and private general practice. We combine strong clinical governance, partnership working, digital infrastructure and a growing network of sites to improve access, patient choice and the experience of care.
The company is entering its next stage of growth. We are building a high-calibre commercial function that can protect and deepen existing NHS relationships, enter new markets and convert opportunities into safe, sustainable and profitable services.
Role Purpose
The NHS Contracts & Account Manager will protect, manage and grow WLC's existing NHS contractual revenue. The postholder will be WLC's principal day-to-day commercial contact for an allocated portfolio of integrated care boards, NHS England teams, NHS trusts and other commissioning partners.
The role combines technically strong NHS contract management with proactive account leadership. It requires someone who can interpret contractual requirements, manage risk, maintain constructive commissioner relationships and coordinate decisive action across Commercial, Finance, Operations, Clinical, Data and Legal colleagues.
Core mandate: Retain and strengthen existing NHS business, resolve contractual issues early and create a reliable platform for sustainable account growth.
Key Responsibilities
NHS account ownership and relationships
- Own a defined portfolio of NHS commissioner and partner accounts, maintaining current stakeholder maps, account plans, risks, opportunities and agreed engagement actions.
- Act as the principal day-to-day commercial contact for commissioners, building credible and constructive relationships while protecting WLC's contractual position.
- Prepare for and lead contract review, performance and account-development meetings, ensuring that actions are documented and completed.
- Provide the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Team with clear intelligence on commissioner priorities, behaviours, risks and opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Coordinate responses to individual activity plans, activity-management processes, information requests, contract challenges, disputes and formal escalation processes.
- Manage contract variations, service additions, extensions, renewals and supporting documentation, ensuring that agreed terms are accurate, commercially acceptable and operationally deliverable.
- Ensure that commissioner reporting is timely, proportionate and consistent with contractual requirements, working closely with operational and data teams.

- Identify and help resolve rejected invoices, payment delays, coding or reporting issues and areas of disputed activity before they become entrenched.
- Support appropriate contractual notices and formal correspondence, maintaining a clear evidence trail and consistent organisational position.

- Identify opportunities to deepen existing NHS relationships through additional pathways, geographies, patient cohorts or commissioned services.
