Contracts Advisor — Offshore Energy

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Advisor to lead contractual activities across bidding, commercial negotiations, and project delivery. Working closely with commercial, legal, procurement, and project teams, you will develop agreements that support business objectives, allocate risk appropriately, and establish clear obligations for all parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the contract management function, coordinating priorities, resources, and contractual input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with clients, joint venture partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Advise on contracting strategies, commercial terms, and risk allocation, ensuring agreed positions are accurately captured in contractual documentation.
  • Support bid and commercial teams with structured contract risk reviews, applying internal approval requirements and risk assessment frameworks.
  • Work with procurement and project teams to ensure relevant client obligations and risks are reflected in supplier and subcontractor agreements.
  • Provide advice on contractual provisions relating to financing arrangements, bonds, guarantees, parent company undertakings, and indemnities.
  • Support project contract managers with contractual interpretation, emerging issues, and negotiations.
  • Develop and maintain partnership and joint venture agreements as commercial arrangements and project requirements evolve.
  • Assess applicable regulatory requirements and their implications for contractual commitments.
  • Maintain consistent contract management practices in accordance with organizational policies and governance requirements.
  • Provide management reporting on contractual exposure, key decisions, and outstanding matters.
  • Oversee contract records, document control, and formal handovers between commercial and delivery teams.
  • Capture lessons from negotiations and project delivery, using them to improve future agreements and working practices.
  • Collaborate with legal advisers on potential disputes, including early case assessment, preparation of supporting records, and assistance with subsequent proceedings.
  • Identify staffing requirements, develop team capability, and support professional progression within the contract management function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
