Robert Half has partnered with a healthcare business to recruit for a Contracts & Business Development Manager.

While this role reports into the Birmingham team, you will only be required to visit the office twice a month.

This is a commercially focused role combining contract management, account development, and business development, with a strong focus on the NHS and wider healthcare market. You will be responsible for managing and developing existing contracts while identifying opportunities to grow services, develop new relationships, and secure new business. The role will involve working with NHS commissioners and other senior healthcare stakeholders, making it particularly suited to someone with experience operating in an NHS-facing commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of NHS and healthcare contracts, ensuring strong performance and commercial value.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across an allocated region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS commissioners, healthcare stakeholders, and key partners.
  • Identify relevant NHS tender and procurement opportunities and coordinate effective responses.
  • Develop existing contracts and accounts to identify opportunities for growth and increased revenue.
  • Lead on commercial negotiations, including pricing, fees, and contract terms.
  • Monitor changes across the NHS and wider healthcare market to identify opportunities and potential risks.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and attend meetings with senior NHS and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support business development, marketing, and growth initiatives.
  • Attend relevant healthcare conferences and industry events to build relationships and identify new opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
