Heritage, Conservation & Bespoke Construction

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + package depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced Contracts Manager with a background in heritage, conservation, refurbishment, or high-end construction?

We are working with an established specialist construction company with a long-standing history in the industry, who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team.

The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, complex, and bespoke construction projects, with a particular focus on heritage, conservation, restoration, and high-end residential work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager who enjoys working on unique projects where quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are paramount.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of a number of projects, working closely with clients, consultants, designers, site teams, and specialist subcontractors.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Managing projects from pre-construction through to completion
  • Overseeing multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality
  • Managing project budgets, costs, and commercial performance
  • Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and specialist trades
  • Working closely with clients, architects, consultants, and the wider design team
  • Reviewing programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved
  • Managing variations, valuations, and contractual matters
  • Ensuring works comply with relevant specifications, regulations, and heritage requirements
  • Supporting and mentoring Site Managers and project teams
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Ensuring the company's high standards of workmanship and attention to detail are maintained throughout delivery

About You

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong construction background and ideally experience within one or more of the following:

  • Bespoke refurbishment

  • Specialist restoration
  • Luxury or period properties

You will be confident managing projects, people, subcontractors, and clients, with a strong understanding of construction processes, programmes, contracts, and commercial management.

A genuine appreciation for quality workmanship, traditional construction, and attention to detail would be highly advantageous.
