Contracts Manager – Roofing Contractor

About The Role
We are looking for a Contracts Manager to join our client's well-established roofing business based in Bridgend, South Wales.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing roofing contracts from initial mobilisation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong commercial and operational experience within the roofing or wider construction industry, who can build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple roofing contracts and projects from commencement through to completion.
- Plan and coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors.
- Liaise with clients, main contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project programmes, costs, budgets, and margins.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits and monitor progress and quality.
- Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment, and associated commercial matters.
- Identify and resolve project issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant health & safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and operatives to ensure efficient delivery.
- Review project performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Assist with tendering, estimating, and the mobilisation of new contracts where required.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat and additional work.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally within roofing or construction, who is looking to step up into a Contracts Manager role.
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems, construction processes, and site operations.
- Experience managing teams.
- Good commercial awareness, including budgets, costs, variations, and valuations.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and contractors.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
- Strong understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant project management systems.
- A full UK driving licence.

Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent would be advantageous.
