About The Role

A Contracts Manager is sought to lead the delivery of highways and infrastructure schemes across the South West, based in Bristol. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary of £65,000 to £70,000, supplemented by a car allowance, bonus, and further perks. You will oversee multiple projects, guiding Project Managers and site teams to successful completion. Working alongside pre-construction colleagues, you will shape delivery strategies for upcoming work. Location: Bristol / South West

Salary: £61,000 – £70,000 DOE + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

An established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join its South West operations, supporting the delivery of a growing portfolio of highways and infrastructure projects.

This is a senior operational position with responsibility for overseeing multiple projects and providing leadership and direction to Project Managers and site-based delivery teams.

Alongside project delivery, you will work closely with pre-construction and planning teams, supporting new opportunities and helping to develop effective delivery strategies.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the region
  • Providing leadership and support to Project Managers and operational teams
  • Ensuring projects achieve programme, commercial, quality, and safety objectives
  • Monitoring project performance and implementing corrective action where required
  • Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners
  • Supporting pre-construction, tender, and framework opportunities
  • Working collaboratively with commercial and planning teams
  • Identifying opportunities for continued growth and repeat business
  • Driving high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance

About You

We are looking for an established Contracts Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure.

You Should Be Able To Demonstrate

  • Previous experience operating at Contracts Manager or comparable senior operational level
  • Strong civil engineering/infrastructure project delivery experience
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects and delivery teams
  • Good commercial and programme awareness
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working within framework and/or tender environments
  • SMSTS
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience within highways, local authority infrastructure, or NEC contracts would be advantageous.
