Position

As a commercially focused Contracts Manager you will support the Group's strategic objectives through effective contract management, commercial governance, and risk mitigation.

The Contracts Manager is responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, ensuring contractual compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, and supporting bid and commercial activities. The Contracts Manager will drive continuous improvement in contracting processes, templates and governance, ensuring consistency, efficiency and strong commercial outcomes across the business.

Acting as a central point of expertise for contractual matters, the role will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to negotiate contract terms, manage commercial risk, and ensure contractual obligations and payment mechanisms are understood and effectively implemented.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including MSAs, call-off agreements and bespoke terms.
  • Manage contractual risk and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Support tender and bid activities by providing contractual and commercial guidance.
  • Maintain and improve contract templates, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Act as the internal lead for contract-related matters, providing practical commercial advice.
  • Build strong client relationships and negotiate contract terms that protect business interests.
  • Oversee contract administration, record keeping and reporting throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Support business growth initiatives with commercially sound contractual solutions.
  • Conduct legal and contractual research as required.
  • Line manage a Contracts Officer and Contracts Analyst.

Who you are

  • Experienced contract professional with a strong background in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Have a law degree, Business Degree or proven work experience.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to balance business objectives and risk management.
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Proactive and process-driven, with a passion for continuous improvement and governance excellence.
