PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Anderson Property Services (APSFM) is looking for an experienced ‘Contracts Manager’ to join our ‘Maintenance Management Team’ based at our depot in Hamilton ML3. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that all activities align with the business objectives and goals.

As ‘Contracts Manager’ you will be line manager to a selection of Engineers, Electricians, Plumbers, and Joiners, and will play a crucial role within the business, overseeing the successful and efficient completion of a wide variety of tasks, including:

  • Reactive Repairs
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Subcontractor Management
  • Project Management
  • Quoting Minor Works

The ‘Contracts Manager’ role is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, callout payments are in addition to an attractive salary and benefits package. APSFM supports further personal growth and development, always placing Health & Safety for all involved in the business as a top priority.

  • Demonstrate strong and effective customer relationship management
  • Supervise and manage the engineer team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of jobs to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate work schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their maintenance needs and address any concerns promptly.

KEY REQUIREMENTS – Contracts Manager

Brilliant Basics

Essential:

  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship
  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, SVQ, HNC, NVQ Level 3 – 6)
  • Facilities Management and/or Leadership Training
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Key point of contact for clients, suppliers, and service delivery partners
  • SMSTS
  • CDM
  • IOSH
  • Previous experience as Project/Contracts Manager and/or site supervision
  • Monitoring risk, performance (SLA’s & KPI’s) and compliance across contracts
  • Managing P&L of contracts, variations, and renewals
  • Ability to complete full written contract reports
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of building and electrical safety standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills, Microsoft
  • Valid and clean driver’s license

Desirable:

  • Experience in Job Logic Management System
  • Experience supporting bids and invitation to tender (ITT)
  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts (e.g. NEC, JCT)
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (e.g. BESS, solar panel, and EV charging installation).
