Key Responsibilities
- Drive the growth of our extruded aluminium, fabrication, and Materials as a Service (MaaS) offerings by identifying and converting new business opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue, profitability, and market share across existing and target accounts.
- Build strong relationships with both new and existing customers, understanding their requirements and developing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Identify opportunities in new markets, sectors, and customer segments to expand the business portfolio.
- Deliver against agreed sales, revenue, and margin targets while supporting wider business growth objectives.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process to achieve EBIT and tkVA targets.
- Proactively generate business opportunities through customer visits, networking, promotional activity, and business development outreach.
- Monitor the performance of allocated customer accounts, identifying opportunities for growth, improvement, and increased profitability.
- Promote the company's full range of products, services, and value-added capabilities, ensuring solutions are aligned to customer requirements.
- Prepare professional sales quotations, proposals, contracts, and tender responses in line with customer and business requirements.
- Support the development of strategic bids, presentations, and commercial proposals for key opportunities.
- Manage customer contracts from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring commitments and service levels are consistently achieved.
- Maintain customer stock agreements, contract reports, and inventory management activities using SAP and other business systems.
- Process sales orders and maintain accurate customer, contract, and sales data as required.
- Track and report on sales activity, revenue performance, invoicing, and pipeline opportunities.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the contract lifecycle, including ongoing account management and after-sales support.
- Coordinate activities across internal departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure contract deliverables are achieved on time and to the required standard.
- Work closely with Credit Control to support cash collection activities and manage customer credit limits appropriately.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, compliance requirements, and relevant industry regulations.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the position and business requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
