Company Overview

Wernick Modular Hire is a leading provider of temporary and permanent modular building solutions across the UK. As part of the Wernick Group, Britain's largest independent manufacturer and hirer of portable and modular accommodation, we have been delivering innovative, high-quality space solutions since 1934.

Combining decades of expertise with modern construction methods, we design, manufacture and deliver sustainable modular buildings for a wide range of sectors. Our reputation is built on quality, reliability and exceptional customer service.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and driven Contracts Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of modular building projects from project handover through to completion. Working closely with clients, subcontractors, site teams and internal departments, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction whilst maintaining compliance with health and safety, quality and commercial requirements.

This role requires a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership skills, excellent commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of construction project delivery.

About The Role

  • Project Delivery & Site Management

    • Manage multiple modular building projects simultaneously from commencement through to completion.
    • Coordinate and supervise site personnel, including Wernick employees, subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.
    • Attend and lead project meetings with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
    • Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing effective solutions where required.
    • Be actively involved during critical stages of project delivery, including mobilisation, installation and handover.
    • Carry out site surveys and assessments to support project planning and future business opportunities.
  • Commercial & Contract Management

    • Manage project costs and support the commercial team with monthly valuations, variations and final accounts.
    • Ensure subcontractor orders are issued and managed in accordance with company procedures.
    • Provide accurate and timely project information to support financial reporting and forecasting.
    • Assist in maintaining project programmes and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
    • Support the preparation and negotiation of project-related documentation where required.
  • Compliance & Documentation

    • Prepare and review Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Building Regulations, company policies and industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate project records and site documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Compile and complete project handover and maintenance documentation.
    • Promote and uphold Wernick's quality, environmental and health and safety standards at all times.
  • Stakeholder Management

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
    • Work collaboratively with Production, Design, Commercial and Administrative teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
    • Act as the key point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
