Interim Contracts Manager - Birmingham | £500 per day (Umbrella)

We're recruiting for an experienced Interim Contracts Manager to join a major organisation in Birmingham, managing a diverse portfolio of high-value corporate contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused contract management professional.

You will take ownership of a portfolio of corporate contracts, ensuring suppliers deliver against contractual obligations while driving value for money, managing risk and supporting effective governance throughout the contract lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing a portfolio of corporate contracts from mobilisation through to exit.
  • Leading contract change requests through governance processes and approval frameworks.
  • Monitoring supplier performance, spend, compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Identifying and mitigating contract risks, implementing performance improvement plans and Early Warnings where required.
  • Undertaking contract compliance reviews and audits.
  • Developing and maintaining contract management plans.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Ensuring contracts deliver value for money and support organisational objectives.

You'll be an experienced Contracts Manager with strong commercial awareness and excellent stakeholder management skills. You'll be confident negotiating with suppliers, managing contract risk and working within complex governance environments.

You'll Have

  • Proven experience managing corporate contracts.
  • Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Experience leading contract change control processes.
  • Knowledge of governance, assurance and contract compliance.
  • Experience working within publicly funded organisations or central government.
  • Understanding of procurement legislation, including UCR/PCR.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and contract compliance.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, SAP, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Access and CEMAR.
