Job Title: Contracts Manager
Job Location: C/O THE EDGE BUILDING, Charnwood Edge Bus. Park, 1, Syston Road, Cossington, Leicester, LE7 4UZ
Department: Severn Trent Water
Reports to: Managing Director
Hours: 07:00am - 17:00pm 45-hour week with an hour lunch break
Salary: Circa £60K DOE

Main duties principal responsibilities
- Draft, review, revise, and approve a variety of contracts with clients.
- Maintain excellent working connections with clients to build close trusted relationships with a full understanding of expected contract outcomes and ensure that needs are met.
- Communicate and meet with clients on contract-related issues and to understand and act upon any concerns raised and to discuss both legal and business matters.
- Ensure a complete understanding of all contracts assigned, including the products/services being bought, pricing, processes, opportunities, and risks.
- Develop a commercial contract management strategy, including the development and deployment of a contract management toolkit.
- Coordinate contract deadlines and budgets by monitoring spend, risk, performance, and contract obligations through KPI's and SLA's, across a portfolio of contracts.
- Manage and collaborate with stakeholders to complete contract close outs, extensions, and renewals.
- Ensure the Contract database is kept up to date and plans are in place for continuity of supply for all contracts approaching expiry/renewal.
- Establish, maintain, and grow relationships by serving as a single point of contact for contractual matters.
- Ensure that risks are identified and that mitigation actions are defined and managed.
- Effective use of contract portfolio analysis to identify opportunities to work closer with strategic partners to improve processes or work differently to create additional value for the business.
- Ensure the organisation's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained.
- Effective use of contract analysis to establish and implement initiatives that can unlock in-contract value.
- Act as a role model for the company's vision and values, behaving in ways that are in alignment with the company's ways of working, such as encouraging and supporting others.
- Promote equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behavior when interacting with colleagues.
- Provide support, advice, and guidance to the different teams relating to contract generation or potential business opportunities.

Qualifications / Competency:

- Previous experience working at a senior management level within the utilities and/or waste industry.
- Have a strong technical understanding of contract and commercial management from complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of contract development and management.
- Ability to demonstrate strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, including regulatory requirements and a strong financial acumen.
- Proficient IT skills including Word and Excel and any experience with Weighsoft would be an advantage.
- Good communicator, able to provide clear oral and written advice to field teams and management as required.
