About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Contracts and Resources Manager to play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental services across the borough.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the management and performance of our key environmental contracts, including waste and recycling collection, street cleansing, and public conveniences. Working closely with partner authorities, contractors, elected Members, and local communities, you will help ensure residents receive excellent services while driving innovation, sustainability, and value for money.
This is a full-time role working 34 hours per week on a permanent contract. This role offers the benefit of hybrid working, combining the flexibility to work from home with office-based working on a business needs basis. There is also the requirement to attend sites across and outside the borough, and to attend meetings which may be outside of normal working hours.

About You
We are looking for someone who can combine strong contract management skills with excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent formal management qualification (e.g., diploma or degree) or hold equivalent experience. You will also require a full clean UK driving licence.
You will have:
- Experience managing large-scale contracts and service delivery operations
- Experience working within waste, recycling, street cleansing, or a related environmental service
- Experience leading teams and driving performance improvements
- Strong analytical skills, including budget monitoring and KPI management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, Members, contractors, and external partners
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and the confidence to manage challenging situations
